Lonato Castle

Lonato's Castle is one of our finest Lake Garda wedding venues, offering a real fairytale setting for both your wedding ceremony and reception all in one great setting.

This medieval castle "La Rocca" is perched on a small hill overlooking the Southern shores of Lake Garda and the surrounding green countryside, Lonato Castle has a long and important history (built in the year 1000 AD), thus giving your wedding setting the importance and heritage it deserves.

A majestic structure of nearly 180 feet long and 45 meters wide, Lonato Castle comes complete with its own drawbridge, a fantastic photo shot for the album!

At night the setting becomes even more spectacular as it is lit up with torches and candles.

 
Our caterers at this venue are of a very high standard and masters at creating a magical atmosphere with their decor and furnishings allowing you and your guests to enjoy their fine cuisine and wines in the perfect of settings.

This venue is not only special in terms of its breathtaking setting and scenery but is one of the few outdoor locations on Lake Garda where you can hold a legal civil ceremony and reception all in the same location.

The extensive castle grounds are at your disposal for the entire day as are the majestic rooms inside  making it a perfect venue for various wedding party sizes.

The fact that you can have exclusivity of this venue also means that your wedding party and celebrations can continue until the early hours of the morning which is a huge plus on Lake Garda where strict hours tend to apply in the resorts.

The various areas of the castle include:
• La Rocchetta
 
Your civil ceremony can take place on the beautiful lawn in a corner of the upper castle walls.
Seating can be arranged for up to 350 people on the lawn with spectacular castle and lake views creating  an amazing backdrop for your wedding album.

• Casa del Castellano/Capitano
 
This large stately room can accommodate up to 120 people seated. Located within the castle grounds and offering great views over the town of Lonato, Lake Garda and the surrounding countryside through the castle battlements.

• The Castle Walls

This welcomingly shady area can accommodate up to 70 guests and has a lovely olive grove and provides a light and airy atmosphere.

It is also possible to hold just the ceremony within the castle and then move on to another venue for your wedding banquet and reception.

This solution is available any day of the week although only on Friday, Saturday and Sunday afternoons if the reception is also being held there.

Should the weather be unkind to us, there is a large marquee ensuring that things can go to plan regardless.

Lonato Castle is in a favourable position being only 10 minutes from the A4 motorway which leads to Bergamo and Verona airports in 40 minutes and the Milan airports of Linate and Malpensa in 1h50mins.

The beautiful lakeside resorts of Desenzano and Sirmione are only 15 minutes away offering a wide range of accommodation and activities to suit all tastes and budgets.
